Trekking in Thailand 700 year history of the city

Thailand has some really good places to go trekking, Chiang Mai in Thailand, one of the best in my opinion.

The ‘culture capital’ of Thailand is a charming and laidback 700-year-old town famous for sightseeing, trekking, soft adventure, shopping, spas and mountain resorts. It’s no wonder Chiang Mai was runner-up favourite city in the 2010 Travel + Leisure readers’ poll.

    The Historic Capital Of Lanna
Chiang Mai Rose of the North is located in a board fertile basin of Ping river, about 700 km north of Bangkok. Regarding as the principal city of the northern region, Chiang Mai consists of distinctive culture and various ethnic group along with beautiful scenery of natural environment. Nowadays, Chiang mai is the commercial, educational, and travel center. Among the modern civilization, there are still numerous remaining of its long and glorious culture. Moreover the hospitality of people, old local traditions and belief and a hundred of monuments are very unique.

In Chiang Mai there is many tour agencies that offer overnight or multiple nights stay with the hill tribe people in   he mountains, it is about a 4 hour trek which is tough but rewarding, you will need to be slightly on the fit side to   be able to do this trek. A lot of up hill walking, but you can always get a motorbike taxi up to the hilltribes if  you can not make it.

Once you are up the mountain you will come to the small village, no electricity, the kids have no video games and   the place looks like another world. You will see the kids have made their own toys and can keep themselves occupied   with their own little toy inventions. Such simple living and they all really look genuinely happy.I stayed with the Lahoo tribe who have been there for generations, they are very welcoming and can cook some of the  best food you will ever taste.

I only stayed one night and the next day was the trek down the hill, but one thing that we saw that was amazing was  the fog that was below the mountain, it was like seeing a river of clouds, a beautiful sight. The trek down is much  easier and the trek is really good, I would recommend to anyone who is staying or visiting Chiang Mai.
